*************************** Call for Papers ************************** The 14th International Symposium on Intelligent Distributing Computing (IDC 2020) 21-23 September 2020, Scilla (Reggio Calabria), Italy http://idc2020.unirc.it/index.html ********************************************************************** The 14th International Symposium on Intelligent Distributed Computing (IDC 2020) will be held September 21-23, 2020 in Scilla (Reggio Calabria), Italy. The main goal of the IDC symposium is to gather researchers and practitioners to foster and ease rich discussions around the latest findings, research achievements and ideas in the area of Intelligent Distributed Computing. Specifically, The IDC 2020 provides an open forum for enhancing the collaboration between researchers, lecturers, and students from Intelligent Computing and Distributing Computing communities. Intelligent Computing covers a hybrid palette of methods, techniques and their applications ranging from classical artificial intelligence, information and data sciences, multi-agent technologies or computational intelligence to more recent trends such as swarm intelligence, bio-inspired computation, cloud computing, machine learning or social-cyber-physical trust and security. Distributed Computing develops methods and technology to build complex computational systems composed of collaborating software components scattered across diverse computational elements. Recent trends on this field present ephemeral computing, federated learning, swarm Intelligence, fog computing, semantic data science, Internet of Things, Robotics and others. Thus, the field of Intelligent Distributed Computing seeks for the design and implementation of new generation of intelligent distributed systems, adapting or hybridizing researches in both Intelligent Computing and Distributed Computing. IDC 2020 welcomes research works centered on all aspects of intelligent distributed computing, with an intention to balance between theoretical research ideas and their application to great variety of industrial cases. To this end, scholars and practitioners from academia and industrial fields are invited to submit high-quality original contributions to IDC 2020. The structure of the symposium consists of regular sessions with technical contributions reviewed and selected by an international program committee, as well as of special sessions and workshops targeted on multi-disciplinary and cutting-edge topics. IDC 2020 is particularly interested in novel models, approaches, architectures, systems and methods for the Internet of Things (IoT) domain, for solving complex computational and communication problems as well as social challenges in agent cooperation and/or competition, including formation of groups and teams, coordination strategies, recent paradigms and frameworks in trust-based computation, recommendation techniques and efficient and effective communication among smart objects. Topics include, but are not restricted to: * Intelligent Distributed and High-Performance Architectures; * Organization and Management; * Ephemeral and Unreliable computing; * Intelligent Distributed Knowledge Representation and Processing; * Networked Intelligence; * Parallel metaheuristics for optimization; * Distributed swarm robotics systems; * Nature-inspired methods for supervised and unsupervised data mining; * Internet of Things; * Intelligent Distributed Applications. *** Submission of Papers *** All accepted papers will be included in the Symposium Proceedings, which will be published by Springer as part of their series Studies in Computational Intelligence. Full papers must be at most 12 pages long, short papers must be at most 6 pages long and poster must be at most 3 pages long and all them must be formatted according to Springer format. Submissions and reviews are automatically handled by EasyChair. Please submit your paper at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=idc2020 *** Important Dates *** Proposals for Tutorials/Workshops/Special sessions: Feb. 16th, 2020 Notification of acceptance for Tut./Work./Spec. Scilla is located on the homonymous rock, which rises 22 km north of Reggio Calabria. The CNN travel included Scilla into the “20 of the most beautiful villages in Italy”. *** Issues related to coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak *** Due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, the Organizing Committee of IDC 2020 highlights that at this moment the schedule of conference will not be changed, as we hope that for the fixed dates at the end of September the necessary safety conditions will exist so having the event to take place in Scilla. However, in the case such favorable conditions will not occur, we will have a fully online implementation of the conference, which will assure in any case to run the event. In such a case, we will of course guarantee the publication of the conference proceedings by Springer as already planned. We will be monitoring the situation and give more details on the conference web site. *** Symposium Contacts *** Address: IDC2020 c/o DICEAM, University Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria, Loc.
